How old does my child need to be to enroll?

We accept children starting at the age of 6 weeks up to 3 years. Our infant program is designed for children between 6 weeks and 24 months of age, and our toddler program is for those ages 24 months to 3 years old. Once students graduate from the toddler program, they are able to move to the primary program for 3 to 6 year olds at our facility next door.

When are classes in session?

Our official school year runs from the second week of August to the end of May, or approximately ten months. For toddlers, we will offer two month-long summer camps starting in June and July, which will be optional. Infant enrollment will not involve summer camps, but will instead continue year-round, from the second week of August to the end of the following July.

What is the tuition?

The school year tuition is $900 per month. For more information about tuition and fees, click on this link: Tuition & Fees for New Students

How are the classes structured?

We have four classrooms, one for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months, one for those ages 12 to 24 months, and two toddler classes for children ages 24 months to 3 years. Infant 1 has a maximum of 10 children and Infant 2 has a maximum of 12.  Toddler 1 has 12 children while Toddler 2 has 16.  Although we are well within ratio, both the Infant and Toddler programs have a floater to go between classes because young children always need quality care and attention.

What is the student to teacher ratio?

In the Infant I classroom, there will be at most a 4:1 ratio, and the Infant II program will have a 6:1 ratio. The toddler classroom will have at most a 6:1 ratio. Our school provides floaters to go between the two infant classes and between the two toddler classes which decreases the ratio even more to provide high quality care.

Can the school be toured?

Yes! Please call (254) 771-1116 or email frontdesk@templemontessori.com to schedule a tour. We usually ask parents to visit around 9:00 or 9:30 in the morning, as this time provides the best opportunity to see the children working on their lessons and projects.

What does the enrollment process involve?

The initial step will involve filling out an application and submitting a $100 nonrefundable application fee. The parents will then be provided with a registration packet.

Infants: In order to complete the enrollment process, the registration forms must be completed and returned along with a nonrefundable supply fee. The infant program will not require an enrollment contract to be completed, and the enrollment period will run for a full year, from August to the end of the following July. Enrollment can be discontinued by the parent at any time, provided the school is given sufficient notice to cancel the monthly payment.

Toddlers: In addition to the registration packet and supply fee, an enrollment contract will also need to be completed and returned, and the enrollment period will run as a full school year, from August to the end of the following May. Summer camps will be available on an optional basis. The enrollment process for the toddler program will also include a home visit by the lead teacher, to be scheduled at the parents’ convenience for a date before attendance begins. This visit will allow the child to become acquainted with the teacher in an environment in which the child is already comfortable, and the teacher will also request some information from the parents about the child’s routine, behaviors, and personality.

Following the steps listed above, your child will be fully enrolled in the Montessori Infant & Toddler School and will be ready to begin!
